Date of purchase vs clasp serial.
Sorry for the question friends. I'm just confused. I own a Pre-Owned GMT.
Serial S (1993) Clasp Date T12 (December 1995) Date of rolex certificate (purchase) - September 1995. I know that the date of the serial may be different from the date of the bracelet, but the purchase date being 4 months before the date of the Clasp (T12), does it make me believe that the bracelet has been replaced or do these date anomalies occur? Excuse my English, it's not my native language. Cheers Augusto. |

I would agree with your observations.
Personally, I would say the clasp or complete bracelet was changed.

Thanks for answering Springer. The Clasp is sumariner style and indeed, between 1995 and 1996, Rolex sold some 16700 with this model of clasp. I think he replaced it or changed the whole bracelet for not liking the model that came. I think I'll never know.

yes, in my experience, all clasp codes are same or later than the case serial, but never later than the purchase date!

Agree Faimag ... Past history, if it had more than one owner, is difficult to know. In any case, I prefer the sub style clasp, like my sub 16610. Curiosity stays.
