I've added watches and jewellery to my house insurance policy. Bumps the price up a couple of quid per month each time I add something new, but 100% worth it for the peace of mind should anything ever happen.

TH March may be worth a look as a separate policy from your home insurance

Depends on how many watches, total value to be insured, plus any other jewellery you need to add.

If the watch is below £15,000 add to your home insurance.

In my experience forget about it if you are talking about a PM watch. Or if your total Contents insurance plus watches and jewellery exceeds £75, 000.

TH March are very expensive for PM watches.

Try Hiscox.

The best deal I have managed to find is via my Household insurance.

I have tried several specialist watch and jewellery specialists and they were far more expensive. One even specified that i have to hav my rolex DD serviced every 2 years.

Adding specified items to my household policy was just simple and easy.

This (pic) was a specified item on our house insurance and the insurer paid out for a full Rolex repair.
It was Sainsbury, but I have switched to Aviva as they refused to cover my latest watch.
Cost is very reasonable when added to a household policy.

Ripe insurance....
More expensive than household but full cover
Theft
Damage
Mugging
Loss
Even your family members can wear your watch and you are covered
And it's Worldwide cover

With insurance you get what you pay for..

House insurance do houses and contents
Ripe do Watches.

Piece of mind

We have them on our home insurance as specified items with accidental cover.
The insurance company did insist on a safe being installed when we added the latest one.

My house insurance was very willing to accept my watches as content, though I haven't had to claim yet.

I use assetsure, they seem very similar to ripe. No issues with them.

Does anyone know how the valuation aspect works (have seen that valuation certificate is needed)? I.e. if you bought from a grey, will the insurance cover the cost of grey purchase or MSRP?

I’ve just moved to Nationwide insurance as I bank with them so mine is covered under that.

my WG Daytona is a nightmare to insure - costs me circa £250 py to insure as its above the limit of a pretty flexible and large policy ( which is crazy as I've other things worth more than the watch that are covered ).... you could try a specialist watch insurer, but IMHO they are really expenive, best thing is to look around and see if you can change your insurer and find someone who will cover within the All Risks Policy. I did in the end and it bumped the premium by that £250 py

+1 for HighWorth - its also who I used a broker

I had mine covered on my house insurance through Tesco, but in the last year both my watches of shot up in value so just moved across to John Lewis as they cover single items up to 15k so all good for another years cover
