Tudor In-House Movement Questions

Hello All

Is the Tudor MT5612 (and other 3 hand variants) truly 100% made in house (i.e. fully designed and manufactured by Tudor/Rolex)?

I know that in-house has many meanings in our interesting watch world. Was any part of the new Tudor In-House movement derived from the Breitling B01?

I look forward to your feedback.

Regards

This guy claims that that MT5612 is a stripped down B01.

Heck why wouldn't Breitling just say the B20 was based off of the B01 if the Tudor movement was based on the B01. Why give Tudor the credit?

The MT5612 is manufactured by Tudor.

The MT5612 was traded to Breitling for their B01 because Tudor needs a chronograph movement.

Meanwhile, Breitling needs a high caliber 3 hand + date movement for their own references.

Breitling modifies the B01 to Tudor’s specification and delivers it to COSC where it is tested and delivered to Tudor to become the MT5813.

Tudor does the same thing and manufactures the MT5612, modifies it to Breitling’s specification and delivers it to them as a B20.

This trade benefits both Maisons greatly because they both get what they need in the advent of ETA reducing delivery of ETA movements to companies outside of the swatch group.

What you just stated is what I currently believe is true.

For some reason Cameron Weiss (American watch maker) has claimed that the MT5612 is a stripped down B01 and not and original Tudor/Rolex design. That is one hell of a claim and is stated in the video I linked at the time noted. His bold claim is why I am asking around.

I just sent him a direct email for clarification;. I'll report back.
