Sea-Dweller Daily Watch

Does anyone have the Sea-Dweller and wear this most of the time as there daily “beater” or is the the watch too chunky to wear on a daily basis.

Thanks

There are many variations of the sea dweller, not to mention modern and pre-ceramic, and many wear very differently. Can you be more specific on which watch you're looking at?

I wear my SD43 daily now. The only other watch I have is the BLRO and I vastly prefer the SD43

Do you enjoy wearing a big, heavy, chunky watch all day everyday ? It’s really a personal preference thing. For me, the sweet spot for a comfortable size is the Yachtmaster 40 or Daytona.

My SD43 is as close to my daily watch as it can be (I change watches regularly). It wears easily on a daily basis and I regularly forget that I am wearing a watch at all when I have it on (especially in the morning if I forget to take the watch off the night before which happens quite frequently). As such, I really don't find the watch too big or too heavy but I understand that others - especially people of smaller stature I would think - may find it too big or heavy. I think it really boils down to the perception of the wearer and his personal circumstances as to its appropriateness as a daily wearer.

I haven’t taken off my DSSD D-Blue since I got it. Nothing else has gotten any wrist time. Very comfortable despite its size and I forget it’s even on my wrist.

I wear my SD43 daily now and I don't find it to be heavy or overly large in any way.

Which one? I have the SD4k and it would work, although a bit chunky.

I think any of the SDs require a little getting used to as they can sit top heavy depending upon the size of your wrist. I have found that the SD43 sits slightly better than the 16600, perhaps because of the wider case - both are great watches in any event!

Only if it’s the amazing SD43. The rest is too tall to tolerate o. A daily basis.

I do.

To be honest, I absolutely love it, but I do feel like it's "fatiguing".

I'm on the hunt for a Pepsi, which I've had on the wrist, and I find it to be a completely different level of comfort.

16600 daily for 6 years.
Not big at all!
I don't think I could wear a ceramic version.

wore it daily for the last two weeks.

it’s a brilliant watch if you are comfortable with heavier pieces.

I wear the Blue Deep Sea SD every day. I love it. Its the 126660, at least 14 hours a day. I rarely even notice it.

My 116600 Sea Dweller is my only Rolex and I wear it all the time. All this top heavy talk and too chunky is all vastly over exaggerated. Once it’s sized properly and with the use of the glide lock it’s fits perfect and is as comfortable as any of the other models, maybe even more so with it’s smaller case profile

I have a 16600 that I wear regularly in rotation with my other watches. I don’t have a large wrist, but it doesn’t feel large or chunky at all. I wear it cutting trees down, going to a wedding and everything in between.

SD43 is a great daily. When I am not in business mode it is my go to. For Biz days its a Blue Sky-D

it all depends on your wrist. I have a 7" wrist and the SD43 is definitely not my daily, but it's not that it couldn't be. It just happens to be my preference. It's a little too big for my taste.

As far as the way it looks, it's 100% another personal preference, but to me if I had a 7.5"+ wrist it would be in strong consideration as my daily watch both on looks and comfort. It's a great watch.

That said, I don't know which SD you're asking about.

Me too, but in my case the black dial. It'll be 1yr to date tomorrow since purchase, and I very rarely worn any of my others since.

Wear my 16600 daily and have for a long time....It is hands-down the most bulletproof/comfortable piece you can own… That is of course if we are talking about the 16600… Any of the other larger sea dweller variants I can’t speak on

Wear a 16600 regularly, and it could totally be a great daily if so desired, although heavy, it balances well on the wrist and that makes it comfortable and almost unnoticeable. It’s very durable as well obviously. No reason it couldn’t be a great daily.

Tried on a DSSD once recently, and although that is a huge watch in comparison to the rest of the Rolex line it doesn’t even wear badly if you were comfortable wearing something that big as a daily.

My SD43 is my daily for more than a year now, 24/7, I almost never take my seadweller off, only for a picture!

I wear a DSSD as my daily wearer. If that qualifies?
On reflection it's been over 8 years now and it's all good
Even wore the JC for my wedding with it nicely tucked under my sleeve without issue.

It all depends...

Personally I felt the Deepsea always were too (top) heavy and I noticed it too much - some people love that, even wear their watches lose, but I don't.

I wear a 40mm Sea-Dweller as a daily beater - love it!
