Is Tapatalk now charging?

I tried posting through Tapatalk but keep getting a message redirecting me to the site to pay for a membership. Not sure if this is just to post pics or for any post.

If you want photo hosting via TapaTalk it is few-based. But the basic app has always been free.

Huh. I was posting pics with no charge. Perhaps it was some trial period that expired.

It's free to post photos but it's medium quality, not high resolution anymore for me...something changed a couple of months ago I want to say.

I paid once a long time ago. Now they want me to pay again with their monthly plan. So far I’m holding out.

I was prompted of a membership fee too if I wanted to post high-resolution pictures, or if I wanted to attach multiple pics.
BTW, I have found a way for Tapatalk not to prompt you a membership fee when attaching multiple pictures from your mobile devices on your post, by selecting the Tapatalk image icon, select an image from your phone gallery, press DONE. Then, go back again by clicking the image icon, then select the image from your gallery.

Still free for me. I'd delete it if they insist on charging.

They did the same for me. Paid once for Tapatalk pro. Then they discontinued that app and told users to switch to the regular Tapatalk app. When they started to charge again they told current paying customers to download the resurrected Tapatalk pro again.

If that’s your story, try downloading the pro app again. Works for me.

Tapatalk only lets me post one photo at a time at medium quality. Keeps asking me to upgrade to paid version to post multiple pics or higher resolution.

I paid for a lifetime membership a long time ago and then maybe about a year ago, I started to get prompted to pay a fee.

I posted to their help forum along with my account information and the prompts stopped.

The main thing I use Tapatalk for is to get notifications and only occasionally to post.

I’m in for life as an early offender (er, adopter) - but whenever a tech company says “lifetime”, you should ask, “whose lifetime?”
