I am really enjoying this one right now. I am not sure whether or not there has ever been a thread displaying all the various shades of the 16610LV bezel, but figured it could be cool to have one now.

if i can choose between the kermit or the hulk, I will definitely go for the kermit. Classic, simple and perfect in all aspects :)

I really love this reference. The black maxi dial, the green bezel. Really the only Submariner I wanted. Sadly, just wasn’t meant to be for me.

Another ridiculous name. It is a 16610LV or you could call it a green Sub or a 50th anniversary Sub. There is no need for any silliness.

Looks like a nice sharp example. I wore one for a year, sold it for £2200 back in about 2010. That’s all it was worth then, I couldn’t or wouldn’t pay the prices now.

You call yourself the shark factor, but have to comment on silly names. Why did you open the thread if you are above silly names. You could see I used the reference name in my post underneath. The names are kind of fun and accepted by Rolex at this point. This forum can be informative and light hearted at the same time. I was just sharing my enthusiasm for the piece. As far as ticking what boxes, I personally prefer the 5 digit case, but prefer the maxi dial. I love the racing green bezel, but like that dial remains black, which gives it a bit more versatility. Admittedly, I like that it is an anniversary piece and seems somewhat special. All in all it is a great watch in my opinion. Stay well everyone.

direwolf, I have the same reference...what’s the history behind yours, when did you get it etc? I always like reading a backstory...thank you.

Maxi dial in a five digit case! Doesn’t get any better than that, IMHO.

Sadly, the one that got away for me. Had one for a short period and sold it for the same $4200 I purchased it for back in ~2008

Not my favorite and I passed on it numerous times back in the day when they were new in the AD's showcase and when they showed up pre-owned. The money now being asked for the watch is what the market will show the watch is worth. The hype is worse than even the Daytona for what the watch is.

Great pic Fleabag. It really demonstrates the varying bezel colors. I believe there were six different shades used over the run.
