Anyone own a Skywalker X-33?

Discovered this watch due to the Space X launch. Cool watch and I'm liking the new look. Anyone here own one of these? Would love to get some feedback and see a couple wrist shots!

I have a V2 X-33 and it's been a great watch. I've had it, and worn it pretty much daily, for 20 years now. Bought as part of a military squadron purchase.

Had a Rolex GMT I was alternating with it for a little while, but sold the GMT and the X-33 is currently my only watch. I do want to get a 300M in blue, though.

The crews actually wear Gen 2 X-33, not Skywalker. Just sayin' :)

But I used to own a Skywalker X-33, and also Gen 1 and 2 X-33. I ended up selling the Skywalker but kept the Gen 1 and 2.

My personal preference would be the Gen 2 > Gen 1 > Skywalker.

To keep it simple about the Skywalker. Its an awesome watch, wear quite well for the size and similar to Gen 1 and 2 (even though its a bigger watch on paper). I still don't quite understand how to use the phase timer. LOL

Skywalker definitely felt better put together, more solid (not that Gen 1 and 2 feel filmsy). But the Skywalker felt like a more expensive watch (which it is).

My complains with the Skywalkers are

(1) The date format is DDMMYYYY, and not configurable. Not great for NA users. (interestingly, its configurable in Z-33)
(2) The 12 hr marking on the bezel is difficult to identify in some lighting situation
(3) The LCD cannot be turned manually (it will turn itself off after 4 or 5 days of being inactive)

To keep it into a few words, that's my impression with the Skywalker. :D

Thanks for the reply. The one thing I like in pictures more about the Skywalker vs the older models is the LCD graphic is presented horizontally across the dial. The older circular way just seems odd to me, but again I have never seen any of these in the flesh.

I also like the darker bezel and dark LCD background on the Skywalker.

I'm surprised that you can't turn the LCD on and off manually. Agree that is really strange and unfortunate. The DD/MM/YYYY is annoying to my American eyes as well. Surprised you can't edit that.

Seems like the G1 and G2 give off a more tool watch NASA vibe while the Skywalker has a more upscale look. I can see why they would do that - hoping to increase sales. But I can also see the appeal of the older models.

That's great. What an interesting watch to have as a one-and-only. Great conversation piece. Just out of curiosity, how long with the battery last on these?

Like everyone else who is a watch and space geek, right now I am very interested in these. Seeing them every day on the three Americans up in the ISS makes me want to have one. Well done, Omega. You found another sucker.

Such a cool watch! The X-33 may be the one and only Swiss quartz watch I would consider buying.

Couple of years. Maybe 3? Funny thing is it's a long enough interval that unless I go look at records, I forget how long ago I replaced the battery when the second hand starts jumping in 5 second intervals.

Bought mine as part of a military squadron purchase, thus the engraved case back.

So the watch sort of gives you advanced warning when the battery is getting low. Thats pretty neat. Love the engraving on the back too!

Yes, according to the manual, when the battery gets low, the second hand jumps in 5 second intervals. It'll do that for maybe a month before it dies.

I have the X 33 Skyalker, I also have the Speedmaster Pro, and many other watches. My interest includes high end tool watches, and a bit off the beaten path. The X 33 hit that on the mark. It is a great watch, the date format is for most anywhere but the States, not an issue. It pays to have the manual handy on your tablet, this is a no nonsense watch. The quartz feature is on purpose, not to be discounted. The titanium wear is excellent, the day/night visibility is excellent, if you need to program the watch are you really going to do it in the dark such that the five second duration of the dial illumination is an issue?

Enjoy, this is a no nonsense piece of engineering.

Sorry to ressurect this thread since it is a year old but I am considering getting the Gen3, only issue is the water resistant. Yes of course, Omega designed this watch to be used in Space where the water resistance is not an issue, however I am afraid using it as daily with only 30m water resistance.

If anyone is using it as a daily, could you please share your experience? Have you had any issues with water resistancy?

I've showered with mine, it's fine. Probably a dumb move, but there you go
