Cut backs are happening everywhere.

Recently, the military announced a voluntary retirement program and went about bonus pay in a different way.

Each candidate for retirement had to be active for 15 or more years, and had to pick two points on his body between which the distance of would be measured in inches. Each inch was worth $1000.

The first fellow was in for more than twenty years and said to measure from his head to his toes.

He was six feet tall and his retirement bonus came to $72,000.

The next fellow was a little smarter, in for 17 years, and ask to be measured from his toes to the tips of his fingers, which he held above his head.

His bonus came to $96,000!

The third guy, a well worn old gunny, ask to be measured from the tip of his nose to his testicles.

The officer interupted him and told him he should reconsider his choice. After all, the last guy walked away with $96,000.

But the leather faced gunny insisted and the officer requested a medical officer to make the requested measurement, since it was of such a sensitive nature.

The medical officer arrived and asked the old gunny to drop his drawers.

To every one's amazement, the medic announced that the gunny had no testicles.

"Where are your testicles?!" demanded the officer.

"Vietnam, sir!" snapped the wily gunny.

Thanks to all veterans, and LEOs, for their unselfish service to our country!

God bless the USA.
