Should I repair an Invicta?

I have an Invicta 9937 with Sapphire, Selitta SW200 26 Jewel Movement. I sent it in to be worked on by International Watch Service Center. It's about 10 years old. They came back with a $200 estimate to clean and overhaul, new mainspring and gaskets.

I have several Rolex watches, but I've been using the 9937 as a beater.

I also have an Invicta 9938 with Sapphire and ETA 2824-2 25 jewel movement. The 9938 is more accurate than most of my Rolex watches.

I hate to trash the 9937. Would you repair the watch?

If you have a sentimental attachment to it then I’d suggest yes. If not then part with it and put that money towards a new beater watch.

No. I would not repair it. You can buy a brand new one on Amazon for $341.

This is also coming from someone who wears their Rolex 99.9% of the time so essentially it’s my beater so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Yes and 200 is a very good price. Some shops will reject the invicta because repair is not financially viable.

Delira sw200 is a good movement

I have a similar case.

My father in law gave me a ceramic movado quartz.

The authorized service center broke the stem. When i only asked that the battery be taken out. They had problems since they supposedly have no tools to handle the ceramic case.

The watch is just sitting in my semi retired box. I didnt have it repaired as i wont be wearing it anyway. And just with me for sentimental reasons.

Sure, why not?

You like it, it's comfortable, and if you don't respect and revive this old trooper, who will!!!

I recently received my Invicta 9937 from IWSC after servicing. First of all, I would like to apologize for the pics at the beginning of this thread. That's not the Invicta 9937 I sent in. I sent in another Invicta 9937 with a coin edge.

They seem to have done an excellent job in servicing my watch. The crown stem was repaired/replaced. The movement was cleaned and adjusted and I had them polish the watch. The total price was about $250 . I know, that seems excessive for a watch of this quality.

However, after doing some research, this is a decent watch. It is in the top tier of Sellita SW200 movements. It has a front and back sapphire crystal vs. the more recent flame fusion models also and a better bracelet.

After 2 days the watch is gaining 1.5 sec per day. This is comparable to any of my best Rolex watches.

Obviously, the quality of an Invicta watch does not compare with a Rolex. But it is a nice homage watch that you don't have to worry about.
