Popped in the AD’s today

Looked at a few pieces and must say this latest porcelain dial presage is gorgeous.

Agreed. They always do well on the dials but then attach hideous fake imprinted cushioned straps.

In my opinion Seiko makes horrible leather straps for their watches. The SARB Cocktail Times and Alpinists are prime examples. Shiny fake alligator stamped straps that are very tacky. They are almost universally changed by owners. I think the Alpinists take the cake as the one Seiko that has the most diverse selection of aftermarket straps posted online by owners.

Well I think that’s the price we pay.
We get a good value reliable all in-house manufactured watch with a crap strap

I have to agree with Sun Tzu. I replaced the straps on my Alpinist and Cocktail Time.

I have always thought that while Seiko makes great watches...they make crappy straps. This is true from the cheapest SKX to the most expensive GS. I never expected anything from the straps when I buy a Seiko as I will always have them changed.
