Hulk vs Ceramic Kermit - comparison pics
Some comparison pics between the Hulk and the new Cermit based on Wei Koh's IG story. These two are completely different watches - the changes in lug dimensions alter the watch completely in my opinion, not to mention the major difference in dial presence.
Hulk is bigger, beefier, chunkier, louder - definitely more of a presence. Cermit is much more refined and elegant. Very different vibes. And it looks like they kept the same dial bezel colour as the Hulk - although this can be changed down the line as we saw with the whole mk1-2-3 BLRO bezel controversy. If you could only keep one, which one would be more of a classic? I know that will be an extremely difficult question for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would be nice if Rolex can confirm if its the same color bezel.
In my opinion the new Kermit will fall short, just like the Batgirl did. Nobody wants a reiteration of an original. Like a forced sequel to a blockbuster movie, it will pale in comparison. New Kermit owners will deal with the constant frustration of being asked "is that a hulk?", only to reply no, until their frustration and complex finally leads them to flip their Kermit for a Hulk. |

I would love a green Hulk dial with black ceramic bezel. I don’t dig the milky green ceramic color.

Never liked the Hulk, but the bezel on the new one is a big miss from what they could have done with it, as well. I think Mark II Kermit is the best combo- if they had nailed a green closer to that in ceramic I'd think it looked great.
That said I wasn't a fan of the super case Subs, and am highly skeptical of the new case until I'm swayed differently in person, so chalk me up for neither- give me a YM or 5-digit Sub/GMT any day. |

I could get behind that for sure! Someone mentioned it on here the other day and I had never even considered it. The green sunburst dial is great, but along with that bezel it's just atrocious IMO. Put a black ceramic and we're in business.

Marketing photos have created a disconnect with the actual products in the past (think about the Pepsi and endless debates) and seems to be the case here. When I first saw the official photos of the new LV on the Rolex website, I thought based on those, this was a new green for the bezel that was going to be a little darker than the green on the Hulk. Taking that view without knowing more made sense to me. Something a little darker so it's more cohesive with the black dial.
I just saw the Wei Koh footage (seems to be the only person online with video covering all the new Subs, not just the black SS models) and definitely appears to be the same green as the Hulk. I like the idea of a Kermit 2.0 as I was never a fan of the green sunburst, but can't say I am thrilled we are seeing the same exact green bezel on this new model. |

I prefer the Kermit, not the new LV. The new LV does look big, but not chunkier like the Hulk.

I would need to see both, but at this point my keeper would be the Hulk. That green dial makes the watch mesmerizing.....

I like the Kermit better but the 40 super case is bigger which I like since I have a big wrist. Deepsea is the dive watch for me personally, but if I had a normal sized wrist id go for the new Sub, no date. Then the Kermit

Hulk. Can't see why people are so exited about the new watches.... 20K at greys in a few weeks, or wait 2,5 years at the AD.

That dark inky green dial in the shade will be gone and it will take while for the new one to grow on everyone, but I’m sure it’ll be fine!
I’ll be the first to congratulate the new incomings! |

126610LV is probably the ugliest Submariner ever made.
The green shade is not right and even worse with a black dial. |

Another photo of the new submariner. The bezel looks the same colour as the Hulk. But without the sunburst dial it just isn't as good.

I always liked the Kermit until I met it. Rather disappointing. I always disliked the Hulk until met it. Impressive. Everything the Kermit should have been in terms of heft and solidity.
Which is the true classic? Easy. They both are. |

What the heck were they thinking. The saving grace of the Hulk was the amazing dial. The bezel was always its weak point as it often went milky green and just didn’t look nice.

Biased opinion - Hulk keeps his crown!
The dial is what makes this watch...take that away, and you've just got a sub with a bright BRIGHT bezel. The green ceramic bezel meshes more with the Hulk's dial...with the black dial, it just looks goofy here.

I have the hulk and it pains me a little to say it, but the new Kermit is better in every way. I just have to be honest with myself here...

I don’t like both. But if I had to choose one it would be the hulk because of the sunburst dial.

Agree, they needed a darker forest green shade to match the black dial, the light green becomes more milky and pastel-y without a green dial. Rather lazy from Rolex.

But considering what happened with the BLRO bezel, there is a fair chance the colour might be tweaked to be darker down the line. |
