So, who expressed the interest to be put on the waitlist?
I am on the waitlist for Pepsi since last year and haven't heard anything from my AD so I gave her a text and surprisingly enough, as I express the interest in new Cermit, she put me on the list.
Although I highly doubt if she really did add me to the list due to AD being one of the national chain stores. Will see what happens in 3-4 years! |

Cool poll and interesting discussion topic. I hope our fellow members keep the comments on topic.
I have no interest in a Pepsi or the new Sub... but, yes, of course... the stores I visit know in which pieces I’m interested, and I’m sure there is some kind of list for them. |

Your probably right. Zero to a slim chance from a chain or boutique AD. I've Been on a list from a boutique since it came out in the spring of '18 along with hundreds of others. I think "the list" works on a tier system, VVIPs on down. I occasionally get an Email from them on special sales on diamonds and other jewelry as the other hundreds do I'm sure. I've since lost interest in it anyway and picked up a new Blnr from another AD. Good Luck to you though.

I expressed interest in a 124060. Im kind of a nobody so I doubt I'll get a call. The lady was nice enough at the store but made it pretty clear its probably not going to happen. Whatever.

I am on a waitlist for the Daytona white dial, but for the new bluesy I am getting the first one, hopefully!

I had to put down 50% deposit for a special order on the Explorer 2. That is the only way to get on this so called list.
I tried to get on a list for a SD43 for over a year at multiple ADs. No one would even take my name down. I had to finally pay up on Chrono; $1k over MSRP plus tax. |

I am on the waitlist for a 126610LN. Only because I doubt I’ll get a chance at the LV. My AD hinted at me being first on the list. Time will tell.
It helped that a number of months ago he had a Pepsi in stock and asked if I wanted to see it. I politely declined as I had seen one before and him and I both knew I wasn’t interested in that watch and so didn’t want to bother him with getting it out. He mentioned to me that he appreciated it. |

Told my AD that I’m interested. He got me my Pepsi in less than a month so we’ll see about the new subs. Crossing my fingers.

I am on my AD’s waitlist. Due to a recent diamond anniversary ring purchase for my wife I have high hopes for a new Sub Date by Christmas.

Is there no option for No, because I am not interested in any of the new watches?

I’ve never heard of this bundling except on here. Sounds ridiculous and I’m sure violates some restraint of trade laws somewhere possibly?

I dont worry about a wait list rolex caned my watch so its secondary market. I miss the smurf. I never had much confidence in a wait list. Especially when it has s such a price tag i shouldn't have to beg you for it. Walk in to a car dealer and they will be more than helpful finding you a car.

Don't put too much (or hardly any) faith in the "waitlist", especially if you are dealing with a chain or location in a large city.
At this point, the people getting these references aren't doing anything except answering a phone call or reading a text from their AD to come and pick it up, as they have already built the relationship(s). The list is either to get a person to run along in a nice way or to get your info to bombard you with emails about everything else BUT the Rolex you want. If you like other brands or other Rolex references, then building a relationship to have that effort free acquisition of hot models will be easier, as it will more than likely happen organically. If you have oneitis and just want a specific reference with no interest in any others, then going grey will be the most effective strategy..buy whenever you want if the cost is irrelevant...or wait a bit for prices to settle if you want to save a few bucks... |

Just bought a new DJ36 from my local AD last week; I took a buying hiatus after investing heavily with him for multiple watches about four years ago. I asked to be put on a wait list for a polar Explorer although I’m told the owner makes arbitrary decisions about who gets what and doesn’t necessarily follow the hierarchy of the list. They don’t expect to see the Explorer this year which is fine because I don’t expect to have the money this year. I can afford to wait but at least I have expressed my interest and paid the entry fee, so to speak.

I actually purchased ladies DJ for my wife to be about a year ago with the promise to deliver Pepsi when it comes in. I guess they never received it ever since or may be they are just pretending IDK.
I learned my lesson, if I really have something to bundle, I would purchase them both when both are available for purchase. |

Over here it's difficult even being considered getting put on the list at all. Seems there's a list for the list.
There's a series of criteria to fulfil for certain models. No major complaints to be honest with that. It's simple business. I just wish they were more honest about it. |

I haven't stopped by the AD yet but my hopes aren't high...I'm in no rush though, will happily wait a year or two for the 124060.

My AD knows what I want and will deliver at some point. I buy mostly Grey as I do not like the constant followup and associated issues of the list. But when my AD says it is here I will buy.

Likewise and not really interested in any modern day Rolex watches,my 5 series have work flawlessly as working tools for many years. And now both 20 plus years old and still running strong so cannot see any reason to change for anything new..

Not really sure the “waitlists” exist at Most ADs!
Other than getting a good laugh out of tossing the post it note with a name on it, not sure those lists go any where at most ADs I let my AD know I’m interested and will wait for when one becomes available to me! I have a strong purchase history but don’t know who has a stronger history or who might show up and will only bundle ......etc so might get mine this month or wait a year!
