I had to laugh at myself today...

It was a beautiful sunny day, I'm driving to work, window down, elbow resting out and I glance down at my wrist where a GMT IIc is sitting. At that point I realized that the watch I'm wearing is worth more than my car.

GMT IIc vs. 1993 Honda Accord w/203,000 miles and all the rust to go along with it.

What a combo. Anyone observing me would peg the Rolex as a fake for sure.

Yeah, but you have great taste in timepieces!!!!

After all, I drive a 1999 Dodge 4X4 pickup to work. The watch I wore this morning was worth double the truck! But you can't ride a Rolex and you can't wear a Dodge!

Perfect compliment to each other if you ask me!

I have you all beat. I drive a 1990 Ford Festiva around while sporting my Submariner. Its worth more than almost every car I've owned combined...

Doesn't seem silly to me at all. Cars seem to depreciate more rapidly than the Rolexes so it makes sense to park more cash in a Rolex than a car.

It's obviously your choice to drive a beat up car! No doubt that you could afford a more decent car since you can afford an expensive watch!

It's definitely a choice. I laughed though because it was such a bucket of water in the face as to where my priorities are! I think the TRF folks will understand though....

Join the club! Both of my DJs are worth more than either of my cars - but about the same as my bicycles.I put a new roof rack on my truck last week, put the Intense on and burst out laughing at the realization that there was a $7k bike on a $2k car

Can't blame you, buddy.

Just the bracelet of any of my watches is worth more than my car!!

just after giving back my last company car I'm back to driving my 1989 Nissan Exa or 97 Mazda 929, I have had comments from friends about my watch being worth more

Same here. My daily beater and shopping mall assault vehicle is a 1994 Buick Regal, or most of one. The rocker panels are slowly disappearing.

I was thinking the same thing today. I was wearing my Daytona and driving my daily beater, a 2002 Nissan Altima.

My car ('95Rover 620=Honda Accord) is worth about 1/20th of it's new price.
My '86 sub is worth maybe three times it's original price, that is twice as much as the car in this days....

Same here. My 10 year old BMW is not even worth half as much as my watch.
The car won't last forever though. Hopefully the watch will.
