Different crowns?
Please forgive me, if already posted, but i noticed a little diffrence between Rolex crowns of SD and Subdate.
Maybe the picture can explain, one is peak the other is round. Please comment with other pictures.

There are a number of different characteristics on Rolex dials throughout the entire time of production..

I do notice a difference but I can't explain why. My Sub 14060M has a more rounded crown also. I've looked pretty closely at a SD in person but I can't say I noticed a difference then.

Yea, what Larry said. You can also find differences on the font styles used on the printing on dials as well!!!

It was true that Rolex having several suppliers of dials like Beyeler, Stern, Singer, etc. at the same time period. It would certainly be possible to see several with slightly different dials from the same period, slighty different fonts, crowns, spacing etc.
