Laurent Ferrier Revolution special edition
Am considering to buy my first LF, the recently launched special edition in steel by Revolution. What do you all think of this piece?

I am a LF fan.
However I prefer their square case to their round case. I also prefer the micro-rotor movement, to the new LF 116.01 calibre, in this watch. I do really like the beads of rice bracelet that this comes with. As for the dial, I am not a fan of the sector dial or of the gray. I remember another person mentioning that the LF he was looking at was a limited edition, and he did not want to miss the opportunity of getting the model. My reply was "They only make around 200 watches a year, they are all limited edition." |

It's a beautiful watch, hard to go wrong with any LF, dials are all superb.

I love sector dials and LF makes great variants on the theme. The Galet case is sublime; no pictures will do it justice.
This watch is an interesting variation on a LE that Aurel Bacs commissioned a few years ago. It can be seen in pictures on his wrist, as well as John Goldberger's. Those watches had the Micro-Rotor movement with the natural escapement, instead of the manual wind lever escapement movement in this piece. Many LF watches are LEs, often made in runs of 10 to 15 units. Don't expect increased value retention due to the small production run, as this is not a strength of LF watches. That said, they are elegant and timeless pieces and will provide years of enjoyment to the owner (I love mine ). |

I like the watches and the brand but doubt I would ever own one.
