Blancpain MILSPEC (Tribute)

Just posting a watch that I think is a true gem. The lume is spectacular, 300m WR, 96 hour PR, with exceptional quality and finishing throughout. A sophisticated diver. And the black on the dial is mesmerizing to me.

I've seen a couple of BP related posts recently, so felt I should add mine. BP can flat do a diver. I have been waiting on my X71 bracelet to come in for awhile. Can't wait to finally have it on the metal (though the sailcloth is great!).

Be advised it wears smaller than 40mm. Sort of an elegant tool watch. I love it. I've owned a bunch of Subs in my life, and they were all great, but this watch strikes me as far superior in every way. Wish BP would do more 40mm FFs.

That is absolutely stunning in every respect!

I’ve always had a soft spot for Blancpain. They have a history of making this sort of watch that many other manufacturers could only dream of, and the quality of the watches I’ve seen has been truly awesome.

I particularly like this. Right size, right dial (you shouldn’t have applied numerals on a tool watch), in fact right in every respect.

It would be nice if they offered a version that wasn’t limited edition, but I totally understand anybody going for one of these. If I hadn’t had such a tough year......

The best FF and the only I’d buy now after 2 previous attempts with 45mm Aqualung and Bathyscaphe.

Wow. Stunner. Love the 40 mm case size, the uniqueness, and the larger dial plots. Sharp and congrats!

Awesome that Blancpain FF Milspec
This thread just needs more Fifty Fathoms pictures. The 2019 LE successor of the MilSpec, the Barramuda on X71 bracelet

That Barakuda is magnificent!

Anyone have the Ocean Commitment so we can see all the 40mm LEs?

Do not forget the first 40 mm one. The 50th anniversary Blancpain Fifty Fathoms LE from 2003. Who can share a wristshot of that timepiece?

I had completely forgotten this one. Surely someone has it. Let's see it!

Can hardly believe I posted this then the Hodinkee thing drops strongly hinting at another MILSPEC.

Great looking watch! It's my favorite of the Fifty Fathoms and if it didn't have a date it would be perfect. If the Hodinkee version is like this 40mm with no date, I might be a buyer. I like my Submariner a lot but the Blancpain is definitely a step up in all respects.

I think at this point everyone is guessing the Hodinkee will be this watch but without a date. Disappointing a bit to me, but at least it is functionally different. Hell I'd be interested in a no date version. So I can see why they would do it. And the relatively few current MILSPEC owners it will piss off is worth it to them I suppose.

I have the predecessor to the 50th Anniversary FF. Trilogy FF 40mm. One of my absolute favourites in my collection.
