What’s the argument for the ceramic Kermit over the hulk?

Do people feel black and green go better than green and green? Don’t like sunburst dials?

Different strokes. I wouldn't buy a Hulk but I really like the new Kermit. All subjective.

Better proportions, nicer looking case, updated movement, AR crystal?

Personal preference. For me the hulk is a bit too much green. I much prefer the more subtle black dial with green bezel. Also the blocky lugs are a deal breaker for me.

I had the original Kermit, I am hoping to get the new one and I don’t hate the Hulk, just not for me. I hear they are better looking in person too.

It’s all subjective and anyone who tells you otherwise likely has one or the other and will voice their opinion as fact to justify their purchase.

I prefer the 126610LV over the Hulk in the same way I prefer the nomenclature of Starbucks over Cermit/Kermit. I doubt this “issue” of 1v1 exists outside the internet as I don’t think anyone has been thrown out of a bar window before over a heated debate regarding their Rolex’s. I wouldn’t pay it too much mind.

The only aesthetic thing I prefer with the 126610 is the black dial makes it a hair more versatile and the green acts as just a slight “pop” to make it more interesting.

As stated, all very subjective both nice but prefer the uniqueness of the hulk dial.

Hulk is much nicer in person than it is in pics. Regardless, something a bit more special about new LV and LB over the hulk and smurf. LN isn’t much different so no preference there but I love the green black over green green all day.

Interesting thanks for thoughts so far - reason I'm asking is because I had the hulk until recently (gave to my dad), was always on the fence about it - not sure why exactly. It's not like I hate green as a color. But thinking maybe I fall into the 'this was too much green' camp. Which is why I'm considering the new LV.

There is practically zero difference from few feet between Hulk and Kermit. All that's visible is green bezel. Half the time, the green dial of Hulk appears black unless it's bright sunny day and you are outdoors. Even case size is pretty much similar for other users. So saying Hulk is flashy whereas Kermit is understated is not true. Both are 95% similar in many occasions and it would be hard to call if it's Hulk or Kermit instantly.

I would like to see a green dial with a black bezel, the green in certain lighting turns black, best of both worlds

The sunburst dial is awesome, but the mismatched green of the ceramic is a turnoff for me. I think the green on black dial is much better aesthetically speaking, but would much prefer the case dimensions of the pre-ceramic Subs so neither one really does it for me.

I would say that an idea I saw floated on here previously caught my attention, which would be the black ceramic bezel on the green sunburst dial...THAT might have been enough to make me put aside the case size/shape reservations....

Hulk for me. The green dial is what makes the watch special.

Sub new Kermit

the Hulk's dial is too green and the shape/fat lugs are not pleasant

I loved the original LV with black dial. I like the current modern version now. Green on Green was too much.

This. Hulk owner since back when they were in the case.

I was skeptical until I saw the new Kermit; it was really stunning in person. But frankly, it was missing that special sunburst dial. The Hulk is not a flashy watch. The dial appears black most of the time anyway. But out in the sun, she is brilliant. I think that is what stopped me from buying the new Kermit, and I don’t need two green watches.

Yes, the lugs on the Hulk are a little chunky, but wears larger on my almost 8” wrist. The bracelet is not as elegant as the new Kermit, but this gives the Hulk an almost vintage feel in comparison. Plus, Hulk has tried and true movement.

...or maybe I am just rationalizing

But if I didn’t already have a Hulk, I would jump on the new Kermit once Rolex sorts out the new movement

If there is one thing we can learn from history it's that the pieces that are "unpopular" with purists that go against the stream (read Paul Newman) that become the most sought after. Does this mean you should buy it for that reason, heck no.

Wear what YOU like, no point in having a watch you detest just so your kids can one day sell it for big bucks

Engraving "swim slowly" on the back of my 116LV as we speak...

Hulk was much “too Green.” New Cermit fits in with more situations / wardrobes. Love the black / Green combo. Lugs and bracelet are undeniably better. The way they should be. Three day power reserve.

I am with this line of thought .

Plus there are so many 116610lVs out there after 10 year of production they are hardly rare ,only my 2 cents

Yes, in reality the sunburst only comes alive in bright lights so there is not much difference most of the time, people who have only seen pics will not have this true grasp. The case shapes are different however.

Never liked the Hulk, even before it was called a Hulk.

Loved the Kermit even before it was called the Kermit.

Big fan of both but the new LV wins out for me. Nice contrast between the bold black dial and green bezel. Better proportions, wider clasp / bracelet and just wears and looks better in my opinion.
