116508, 116610LV, and 126719 Comparison. LOTS OF PICS :)

In a recent incoming post of my 126719BLRO another member asked me to compare it to my 116508, as well as how the 116508 dial compares to the 116610LV. I finally got around to taking some photos today of the 116508 and 126719; however, I am away from my home and the 116610LV. I did stumble upon an older photo of my Hulk and hopefully this will show a nice enough comparison between the two dials. So with no further ado…

116610LV vs. 116508
My first modern Rolex happened to be the 116508 followed a few months later with the 116610LV. Between the two the Hulk clearly has a subtly lighter dial of the two. I believe this lighter green plays nicely with the softer, cooler stainless steel. Meanwhile, the deeper and richer green of the 116508 contrasts ever so slightly with the yellow gold depending on the lighting. The Hulk’s dial tends to pop more (even in less extreme lighting from my experience), while the 116508 dial can even appear black in some cases.

126719BLRO
This is just a magical dial. Everything about it is simply stunning. I am not one who likes attention and the WG of flies under the radar. (The 116508 is for those times when I may want to turn a head or two, which is sparingly though). Most everyone I spend the majority of my time just figure it is SS and that’s one of the reasons I love it. Even with this, the dial constantly captures the attention of people though not for its flashiness but because of its uniqueness.

How They Wear
Not surprisingly, the 126719BLRO and 116610LV wear nearly identical. They are more pronounced when worn with a boxier feel for lack of a better way of describing them. These two took some getting used to since I first started collecting in the vintage world. Particularly, I did not like the hulk much when I first got it and admittingly don’t wear it much still. I have always felt it too large, however, when I received the meteorite GMT I really forced myself to adapt to how these modern watches wear larger.

The 116508 wears much closer to the wrist. I feel it grips and wraps around my wrist perfectly whereas the hulk and GMT are of the bulkier style. When I put on the 116508 the weight is evenly balanced and before I know it I forgot it is there until I look down to admire its beauty once more :) I tend to wear this more as the GMT and Hulk tend to feel almost top heavy and takes more getting used to.
