Icon11 Frankenwatch or Fake? my 16000 DJ "Buckley"

I've had this watch for about 3 years now and have always had a slight bit of doubt about it's authenticity. It didn't come with a box or papers. Here is what's driving my doubts, along with some of the things I tell myself to feel better.

- The dial does not have remnants of lume at the hour markers and I'm not sure it ever did. Perhaps it is an aftermarket dial or someone did a really good job of removing the lume.

- I thought, and could be wrong, that the 16000 came with a smooth bezel. I'm thinking this could have been changed to fluted.

- The serial number dates it to 1978. The clasp code is D12, which would be Dec of 1979. Not crazy I guess as they are not manufactured together. The clasp also shows 62523H.18 which I believe is for a two tone jubilee which this is not.

- D12 clasps are commonly used in fake bracelets?

- It says Registered Design over the model number which makes sense for 1978.

- I've read that fake clasps tend to have 6 or fewer adjustment holes? Mine has 6.

- The endlinks have 455C marked on them.

What do you all think?

Thanks for the feedback. What tipped you off that the band is fake?

Agree that clasp at least is fake. Check the crown too...there are some things to be concerned about -- tough to make any other determinations at this point. Need better pics from all sides

unless that's some weird reflection of the crown off the side of the case

The bracelet is likely as fake as the clasp since the end link numbers you cite are wrong.,

Dial appears fake to me too.

This watch has likely been built to appear to be something that it is not.

The bezel isn't fluted, its an engine turned bezel.
The dial and hands look genuine save that the lume plots have been removed and I'm not sure if its pixilation but the "P" in "Perpetual" looks displaced upward.
The bracelet as Larry says is mismatched.

These watches are usually explained as parts watches which some used dealer makes up from various watches.
