Can you help with sizing my new Pelagos...

Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

I recently purchased a new LHD that I’m super excited about. It’s my first Tudor and has been in my sights for quite some time. I wanted to buy from my AD, but supply is so low, that I had virtually no leverage to negotiate any discount. Although I would have loved to score some “Rolex points” with my AD, I ended up finding a unworn, boxed, and papered piece from a reputable broker in the Omega forums. I saved over $1000 when you factor in sales tax, so it was no brained.


So now I’ve got the watch in hand and I need it sized. I’m kind of embarrassed to take it to the AD, so I’m going to take it to a local jeweler.

Here’s my question. Sorry if it’s a total FNG question, I have no shame. I’ve never owned a bracelet like the Pelagos that has the three different fixed clasp positions and then a fourth “springy” one. When I have the jeweler size it on my wrist , what position should I have the clasp on? I would assume the second of the three fixed positions, but I just wanted to solicit the advice of current Pelagos owners.

Congratulations.

Honestly do what fits best and comfortably. Meaning don’t be fixated on using a specific slot. They are each incremental addition or subtraction of length and you need to use the one that works best. Personally I set it so that I can fit my pinky finger between underside of wrist and bracelet.

The last slot with the adjustable springs is meant for the watch to fit over a wet or dry suit when diving. You won’t like how tight it is if you shorten the bracelet to fit snug using this slot over bare skin

Thank you, I think I'm really going to enjoy it and I appreciate the advice.

I probably wasn't clear though. What I meant to say is that I have to have some links removed by a jeweler to have it "inititally" sized. I would think that I should have it on the 2nd slot when they are doing that. Is that what you (ya'll) would do?

I usually remove as many as possible to get it as snug as I can. Then use whichever slot that is not too tight or too loose. It could be any of them depending on combination of links removed.

Congrats OP. I don't own a Pelagos but if it's like Rolex, the watch should have come from factory with the bracelet springbar in the middle slot, which your are referring to as the second slot. Size bracelet by removing links and then fine tune with the 3 micro adjustment slots.
