Wwyd trf??
So I am thinking of purchasing a Hulk that will eventually go to my daughter (born in 2014). I have two options:
2014 Hulk in excellent condition - full set 2020 Hulk never worn full set $1700 more expensive than the 2014 model Interested in your thoughts. Thanks for reading. |

For $1,700 more, I'd go with the 2020 full set all day.

If I were receiving the gift (and likely wasn’t a hardcore WIS) I’d appreciate the brand new watch more. Why would she want a used piece that’s the same age as her vs one that she’ll make her own memories with. Unless of course you plan to wear the watch in the interim? Nice gift either way you go! I hope she loves green.

New is the way to go especially for "only" $1700. Wear it and enjoy it for many years. When the time is right, offer your daughter the Hulk or a different watch she'll enjoy and wear.

Buy the Kermit, hulk is not worth that much more msrp. Unless it is the birth year, then I don’t know!

I think it would be cool to gift a watch to your daughter that had only been owned and worn by one other person — her father.

Never worn for that difference. I don't think random serials are really birth year watches. That is the date the previous owner purchased. Not much meaning in that. If you purchased it, than different story. It could have been sitting at AD for a long time (likely in 2014).

Dude, these watches age slower than geologic time. Go with the birth year so there’s some connectivity to the girl, and when she’s in her 20s it won’t matter but it’s a bit older watch. Or in her 30s. Or 50s.
Such a great idea. I wish I done that for my daughters. Instead, I bought them Remington Single shot 22 rifles. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would pay the premium but since it’s her birth year, I’d definitely go 2014.

Wwyd trf??
Get the new one. If your daughter was 20 would she want a 20 year old watch? By the time she wears it how old will the watch be?
I just don’t understand this fascination with so-called “birth year” watches. Buy her a new one when you determine she’s of an age to wear it responsibly. Just my opinion. Good luck to both you and your daughter whatever you decide.
