Day Date 40 bracelet screws question
Looking at my 228238 yellow gold DD40. It looks like the bracelet screws are made of Everose gold. Are my eyes deceiving me or is this correct? FYI I bought it brand new at my AD

It's possible. I know the spring bars in Everose Daytona's are definitely yellow gold. I've seen it myself.

Any reason for this? Is everose a stronger metal?

Simply done to match to the bracelet.
Steel 'pins' <that is actually the technical term for those bracelet screws> would look nasty, IMHO.

But why not match the bracelet and put yellow gold screws/pins in a yellow gold bracelet? These are rose gold in a yellow gold bracelet.

Maybe its just the lighting, but its a little hard to tell if those screws are everrose. But I see what you mean.
Semi-related, but the 80's and 90's Day Date 18038 and 18238 in yellow gold all had rose gold bracelet clasps. I speculate it has something to do with strength of the metal. |

My DD40 is YG and to the nakid eye the screws look like YG. However when I use a 10X loupe they do appear to be RG. Never noticed till now. Picture doesnt show it correctly but there is a tint of RG color in person. Weird............

Perhaps everose is less reactive due to the platinum content and therefore less likely that threads will lock ?
