Help me diagram this watch movement?
Not a Rolex but I think this subforum is the best fit.
As I知 bonding with my new watch (VC with an exhibition caseback) I知 trying to better understand what I知 seeing, and I知 wondering if some of the knowledgeable folks here might be willing to help. I知 including a screencap of the identical movement (borrowed from the web) that I致e diagrammed. My best guesses, based on some reading, are below. Thanks in any case! Number 1 is the crown wheel and the ratchet (they move as I wind the watch), and so I assume the barrel with the spring inside of it sits right below that? Number 2 is a mystery to me用art of the drivetrain (so to speak) that moves the hands? Number 3 is the balance assembly and I can see the escapement mechanism below it, ticking away. Number 4 is the center wheel, which turns once an hour (controlling the minute hand) and below that is the wheel that revolves once a minute (controlling the seconds hand). |

I'm no expert, but I assume #2 is the barrel and mainspring. You can see how it interfaces with the pinion in the center wheel.

I think you're right. I just found this Youtube video that breaks it down (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_QsCLYs2mY), and that suggests the same. Thanks!
