I was able to find a 312 available. I have been looking at a 111 as my first PAM but this one has the in house movement and the 1950 case. What should I do? How many 312's are they making a year? Is it considered a special edition? Thanks in advance!

It's not a special edition, it's going to be produced for a few years i would guess, this being the first year they're going to produce a couple of thousand, but i'd guess if successful and if they sell out then they'll put that up a bit and maybe remove something like the 104 from the range.

I tried one on today and it is well worth it in fact I'll likely be selling my 111 to fund some of it. They're only producing 2000 this year, I liked it enough to put a deposit on it. They just got it in yesterday so it didn't last 24 hours. :)

It's a very cool looking watch and with the in-house movement it will certainly open the universe of interested buyers who prefer watches with in-house movements (like me). I've contacted several ADs in the US trying to find one and have had zero luck so far. If you find one and you like it, even just a tiny bit, I would snap it up quick. If you end up not liking it there'll plenty of interested buyers to sell it to.

The one advantage of out-of-house movement PAMs are that they are at least housed in a large house.

In-house movements in a little 36-40mm houses just do no tickle my fancy anymore.

I like the 312s case depth.It will look good on the wrist

The BEST new in house movement Panerai made so far, is 312 indeed.
I hope I can get one this year. No news from my ADs so far...

Yeah, i've heard nothing but how great it is and how cheap it is compared to the others, but in reality it's a hell of a price for what i feel is a basic movement with little real innovation, in the UK this watch is going for around £4300, which is more than a Rolex GMT IIC and in the same ballpark as some JLC, Glashutte and others.

its a shame that JLC, glashutte & others dont get as much recognition in the US as rolex. i think panerai is starting to make headway in the US b/c they have great marketing and smart business planning. a simple 312 becomes somthing great??????huh??? and why???? i have no clue. i was in CA last week and NYC this week. Ive seen more panerai's on wrist these past 2 weeks in bars, resturants and clubs then i have in the past 2 years. its becoming the "in" thing. to make somthing special you just have to believe its special....there is no secret ingrediant.

I stopped by the AD and of course it was sold. Oh well! The sales lady did let me see it as she is sending it out by mail to the person that bought it. And it is very nice!!! The 1950 case is really nice. I will be in the hunt for one when I travel overseas. The prices seem cheaper there than here.

there no pricing here i think (against rules)
but from my own personal search it usually hovers around the 6 k mark.
