FS: 1958 Rolex Submariner 6536 with Tropical Dial

Serial #: 398XXX

Description: Case: Excellent thick case that has been polished in the past. The bezel insert is newer and was probably replaced at a Rolex Service. The inside of the casebook is stamped: 6536/1 IV. 1958. The serial number is partially worn but visible. The red triangle bezel insert has faded to a deep purple/red hue and shows some wear from use. The bezel was sourced separately from the watch but it is period correct. Dial: Amazing ultra rich brown almost burgundy tropical gilt dial. Both the luminous material of the dial and hands is original and glows faintly and drops off quickly under UV light. The 6 o'clock on these was originally made with a brighter compound that glows brighter under UV light. The gilt print is sharp and clear. The depth rating has gently faded to a dark tone. The surface of the dial has softly spidered which you can see under bright light at extreme angles. This beautiful dial has amazing presence and intensity and clearly shows the richness of tropical dials. Bracelet: Very good newer Rolex USA stretch rivet with average age from use. The clasp is stamped with a 68 date code. Accessories: None
