I think I "need" a Daytona next right?

Not sure I will ever spend the money for a PM Rolex so the only thing I'm thinking I "want/need" is a Daytona.

I've had a half dozen Submariners, just about every 5 digit model from ExplorerII, GMT, GMTII, Sub, SubDate, YachtMasters over the years...no longer interested in 5 digit models.

I want the next one to be different and chronograph is not represented.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or musings you may offer!

Agreed. I've had that in my "cart" several times within the last 3 months....

I'm going to wear the heck out it like I do the rest so unpolished would be nice but after a month with me...Oy Vey.

I saw one for $17,900 but I'm going to have the old bracelet on that one...which gives me pause.

I'm probably going to hold out for MSRP SS or other from my AD. I was told recently "I haven't forgotten you..." LOL

I think it's better to have at least one PM Rolex, so goes for RG Daytona.

I've looked at JLC Polaris Chrono but didn't like it's 42mm on the wrist. The Master Control Chronograph is a steal at 15k and 40mm but I don't want Chronograph, , 30-minute counter, Date, Hour - Minute, Day, Month, Moon phases, Pulsimeter, Seconds...also not a fan of "square/rectangle pushers on either.

The VC is also bigger than I want at 42.5mm and $32k!!!

There is no Omega I like other than the Moonwatch which I have and I've had a half dozen other Omega Chrono over the years.

I am not sure I'd ever spend for Patek or Lange.

GS and GP do nothing for me.

I guess I need to get an Apple Watch. They have a Chronograph dial don't they? ...

You'll get no argument from me. I'd love a PM Daytona...its all relative (and chump change for some) but 40k is a lot for me to get my head around for a watch...gold or not.

Then get a Daytona lol ;)

Also the zenith chrono sport is a nice option very similar to a Daytona but much more doable gray.

I've been drawn to the Zenith but every time the Sub Dials just don't look right to me. Maybe they are too big or its because they touch. Just not for me.

The multicolored circus style sub dials are horrific, but I believe there’s a panda and reverse panda coming. I will be buying one of those as soon as they’re released

As long as they can make the sub dials not overlap/touch...I'll never understand that.

Oh make it 40mm.

You’ve covered wearability and complications. Your collection is really nice but screaming out for a chrono (Daytona)

Get the oysterflex and buy the oem leather that existed on the model before it

I had no interest in Daytona until I wanted one and was able to snag a black dial one. I never really bonded with it so I traded it in. Now I've got two, a Pt and a TT. Good luck with your search. I'd consider a PM with OF strap.

Somewhat same story for me. Was never really drawn to them and I think the hype had something to do with it.
Didn’t have a Chrono in my collection so started looking at other brands. The only thing that drew me was a VC but I have no relationship with them.
Then I had a chance to try the Daytona on and for me the size was perfection and my AD came through for me a couple of weeks ago

It had been said, but a PM may make that collection pop in IMO - so I would also recommend a PM Daytona, maybe even a nice TT (the champagne dial in SS and YG is stunning…)

Good luck with your decision and search and definitely let us know what you decide on!

If on a budget the 16523, zenith 2tone is a great option…..a few different dials to choose from and I prefer the slate followed by black dial

Yup, a Daytona would go splendidly in that (already terrific) collection! Go for it!
