Dipped into the gold nib club today
Ordered my first gold nib fountain pen today from Goulet Pens. Have a small collection of non-gold that I love to use so im excited to get it in.
Pilot Vanishing point and obviously some solid ink. |

Congratulations! Gold nibs are lovely and soft and smooth to use typically.
Don't undersell stainless nibs or nibs made from other materials. One of the things I love about FPs is the ability to have a nibmeister put a grind on it and make it exactly as you desire. Lots of fun!

Gold for true penwork
I have used german steel nibs and they are a work horse. I have found Gold nibs to be a better "Writers Nib", As always, use what works for you. Congrats on entering the Gold arena.

Congrats! Can we get your opinions on it/review. I've been thinking about getting a VP or a Lamy Dialog. My daily pens are Sailor 1911s and Visconti Homo Sapiens, but I prefer the balance when they aren't posted so it can be annoying to write with then when I'm at court or on the road.
