Explorer 124270 Oyster Bracelet Screwdriver
Hi, this is most likely the best place for a correct answer. I recently purchased a Rolex Explorer 124270 (2021 model) and need to remove 2 - 3 bracelet links. After pressing an AD I was told a flathead 1.60 driver would do the trick. Now I have owned a Rolex since 1980 and have a few Bergen screwdrivers so as to adjust the jubilee bracelet (smaller then what is needed for the Explorer). After watching a few more how to videos I noticed that man removing Oyster links was using a "T head". When there is " concave head", both better then the regular jeweler flat head with Taper. Does anyone know if 1.60 is the correct size and where I can purchase a T-Head or Concave Head driver? Thanks in advance...

I think "concave" is a reference to how the blades tip is ground only.

I carry one of these in my work bag just "in case", it works like a charm on Oyster Bracelets. Just used it to resize my new 124270.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141690538472 (It's flat head / hollow ground... never rounded a screw head). I think its around 1.5mm. |

I can tell you one thing for sure, all screwdrivers are not created equal. Size is just one measure, quality is the greater concern.
The rolex 2100 tool is perfect and I have found that the similar designs have been of high quality they typically are offered on green vs the gray of the original. I have two different green (as well as the oem) versions they are also of slightly different quality.
