DD 40 on 6 inch wrist

My wrist size is 6 inches and I’m thinking of getting a DD40 in rose gold chocolate dial or yellow gold with black dial. Does anyone have photos of Day-Date 40 on a 6 inch wrist?

6.5inch wrist. Fits like a glove.

You'll be fine. Go get that bad boy.

Big no from me, having tried both with a 6.25" wrist. I feel that with the DD, you need a really good reason to deviate from the traditional well-tested 36mm aesthetic.

For me its more about "Can I make the 36 work", and with a 6" wrist you are in the perfect camp to wear this tried and tested size with pleasure.

I tend to agree, the 36 is going to look perfect.

The 40 might be trying a bit too hard

6in wrist and the 40 is perfect. Looks smaller when your arm is vertical/sideways.

I have a 7+ inch wrist, I’ve owned a 36mm DD in the past and hope to get another. Perfect size DD…

Watch sizing is personal preference. Vendors always recommend larger watches for upsell and quicker sales.

Smaller wristed people tend to think oversized watches look better as well.

Larger wristed people think it looks a bit silly. Like a child wearing their parents clothing/watch.

See these threads over and over. Same result. Same people say the same thing.

Shape of wrist matters also.

Flatter wrists can pull if off better IMO.

Make sure to try on DD36 as well and then just get the one that feels/looks better to you.

What is the point of getting a DD40 with an incredible Crown Clasp “President” bracelet… and then having to remove a bunch of links because it doesn’t fit your wrist?

Get the 36mm and enjoy the incredible watch and the unique look of the President bracelet (with more links on the wrist instead of in the box).

I have a 6" wrist and would not entertain getting the DD 40. Go with the 36mm.

Isn't the DD40 really a 38,75mm clock ? think I have seen that in a thread here.

I have 7” wrist and wear a 36mm DD. Yellow gold has “more presence” and stands out quite a bit more than silver colored metals. IMO a 36mm will fit you better…that being said it’s all personal style.

Bigger watches have been “in” for a long time now, and no one is going to look at a 40mm and think it looks silly on you or too big. If the lugs are wider than the top of your wrist though, it may not be comfy to wear, especially a watch that weighs 180-200 grams.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Maybe also depends

I’d measure the top flat surface and see how the head and lugs rest

Poor logic. I can afford size 16 shoes, doesn't mean I want to wear them if they are 6 sizes too big.

Have you tried a 40mm watch before or do you just own lady boy-sized watches?

The 36 is a better fit imo for that size wrist. However if you are really wanting deconstructed romans or a sundust dial I get it.

I'm super jealous because 36mm Day dates are an awesome deal.

go for a 36, it's a full gold watch so it will wear bigger. i have a 6 inch wrist and 40 looked too big and try hard whereas 36 looked classic (as it should imo, if going for a day date)

Go for the 36mm. Here's my DD 36mm with my 6.5in wrist. I think it wears perfectly.

The 40mm is going to look too big on your even smaller 6in wrist IMHO.

I vote first for the YG black dial 36, and if you're not convinced, then go for the RG chocolate dial 40.

Do what afmars says and try on the 36!
I have a 6 inch wrist and I think 36 will get banged around a lot less than a 40mm. go with 36.
