Tudor Black Bay Bronze Patina Removal

While this will serve for any bronze watch, my trick to 100% return my two bronze watches (Panerai Bronzo and BB58) to factory tone (de-patina) is the following:

50% Any sugar free/diet soft drink (just for the carbonate gas) sprite, fanta, etc
50% Lemon juice (fresh or concentrate)
2 x Polident smokers

Immerse the whole watch in this mixture for 40min to 1h. Rinse with water.

Done!

Wow, thanks for sharing. I've entertained a bronze piece but hate the patina. How sure are you no damage occurs?

Smart. Denture tabs and an overnight soak are also great for cleaning jewelry and watches.

Nice job I really like this watch but not a fan of the patina.

Would the acid in the lemon damage the gaskets?

I have been cleaning my Panerai bronzo for 3 years with no adverse effects. Basically it returns to as-new condition on each occasion.

For me it has never been a suitable material for a watch. But that is a very personal opinion.

I wouldn't clean it. It's like sandblasting a delightful old Victorian house.

Each to his own, though.

My take on that is Tudor would sell them pre-patina’d if that was the appeal of the watch. However, I understand everyone has their preference
