My Guess on the Omega/Swatch Reveal

Well, betting on this will be easier than a successful NCAA bracket this year! My guess it will be interchangeable heads, (titanium?), mated with different Swatch cases and straps. I don't know if you are familiar with Hegid Watches. Same kind of concept.

Take it to the bank. Or hoop!

I had something a bit like that back in the 1980s. Strap and case with timing bezel was one plastic assembly and the metal case with quartz movt and dial (similar to above pics) fitted in and out the back. Came with white, grey, yellow and red as I recall and cost about $100. Looked vaguely like a Rolex Sub. Lasted me a couple of years backpacking round the world till the last one fell apart.

Actually I think what they released is pretty absurd. Well, or the reaction is. I don't understand why a Swatch is attractive to anyone anyhow. Because there's an Omega logo on it? it just seems a bit ridiculous. I think people are losing their minds only because they think these will be a good investment. They are probably right but I can't get my head around it.

Hard pass for me.
