Rolex DJ41 Bracelet Swap
Hi All,
Long time lurker wanted some guidance with a potential issue. Went to pick up my first ever Rolex from a uk AD. It was a Blue baton DJ41 jubilee strap, fluted bezel, ss. Open arriving the AD asked me a favour, another customers watch had arrived with the wrong bracelet. Oyster rather then a jubilee. He asked if i would mine swapping my bracelet for the oyster so that he could put my jubilee on the other customers watch. Now I was a bit surprised and did not know how to react and in the moment I just agreed. The AD did get me the watch within a week after ringing around various other AD’S with no luck, so i thought why not. The AD did say that he will look after me for any future purchases. Will this be a issue is the watch matched to the strap by Rolex? Is this even allowed? Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Did you ask for your watch to come with a Jubilee bracelet? If so, then you are now in the same boat as the other customer. And the documentation that came with your watch doesn’t match your watch.

Did they give you $250 (or whatever in pounds) back?
Because there is a price difference between the two bracelets... |

Apart from the price difference mentioned above, I don't think it is an issue at all since you can order the bracelet separately from AD meaning that they don't mind changing the configuration

You can own both bracelets for your DJ, there’s no requirement to hand over one when you buy the other, so if you wanted to your AD can get you the jubilee at a later date, size it for you and you can interchange bracelets to match your mood/circumstances/etc. I may pick up the Oyster for my DJ, I was quoted £1200 with £600 upfront if I wanted one by my local AD.

The price difference is, to me, a big deal if the AD didn’t charge the reduced price for the Oyster bracelet to the OP.

Hi All,
Thank you for there replies, to clarify he did adjust the price to reflect the oyster bracelet and I requested my DJ to have a jubilee bracelet when I ordered it. |

I would request that they order you the jubilee bracelet that you requested, and then swap it out for the oyster when it arrives. Pocket the price difference for your troubles (at a minimum).

Go in and have a conversation in person with the SA. Tell him what you told us and ask him to get you the Jubilee bracelet. When it comes in, swap it out or get him to sell it to you at cost or slightly over. I was not a fan of the jubilee until I got one on my BLRO/BLNR and now I am a big fan. Good luck sorting this out and let us know what happens.
