Red sub 1680 needs input

Need some seasoned eyes to give me the low down on this 1680 red sub circa 1970 with 243xxxxx serial number.

I suspect service insert. Dial and hands appear original and bracelet is US made C&I stamped 1970. Worth pulling the 21K trigger???

The discolouration of the lumes would bother me, and might just bother you in months to come. Its probably been damp at some point. There is a fair bit of pitting on the rear of the case and case back, again factor that in. Here's mine for comparison.

The dial is unpleasant in my opinion

Nothing wrong with most of it per se for me, but the marker dotting is a little mottled for some tastes, and doesn't match hands that I think are possibly later 80s, there's a tiny bit of paint missing on outer 30min marker, bezel look dubious too. Reverser wheels are service. I'd see it as a tops £14k or $18k watch perhaps, $16k to be safe!

I rather have a 1680 or 5513 in better condition than this red sub.
