124060LV - One can only dream

Imagine a no date sub with a green bezel.
It would be my grail piece because I love the no date submariner.

Agreed it would look awesome, but I don't think Rolex is going to do any crazy color ways with the Sub; I think most will be with the Sub Date.

I am hopeful that you’re right

I much prefer the Submariner in its traditional color scheme. Let Rolex tweak the rest

Have to agree Brian cannot see any point in green inserts.

I'd settle for a 124066LN.

No need. Just get a custom bezel. Or get both and throw it on the bezel.

It doesn’t require any imagination.

Sure but he's referring to the bezel which you're also asking about...They are the same size and if you can go through the trouble of sourcing one or switching it from a Cermit then you will have your grail.

Prediction: Once this drought is over and prices revert to MSRP or less, no one is going to want Green subs

I used to think that until the photos here got me. My AD came through. Wow it is a different universe better to me than the black subs, and I love black subs. I have had so many people comment that know nothing about demand on how much they like it. Will the demand drop for them in the future? Who knows, but I love mine! If I bought watches that is the most popular, I would have went for the BLRO over the BLRN, but got to get what you like best.

I would agree if you could come up with a similar bezel insert to the current ceramic 41 LV, amazing look. I prefer a Sub date but I can barely put mine down since I got it last spring!

Love the current green sub (my only Rolex) but also love the functionality of the date… maybe bc it’s my only Rolex.

If I had a collection might think differently but I find myself glancing at the date on a very regular basis.

What a photo! I also barely put mine down. It is hard to explain what it is, but it is a very special watch.

Funny how bad people want something when its hard to get and when its everywhere who cares. Guess thats true for all things in life

As to Green on watches period? Not a big fan but maybe on the right watch

I view it as an expression of one's personality. Some people just love the colour scheme. Colour doesn’t have to have a utility

Exactly. No point to a lot of what Rolex does. Most black bezel subs dive to 1000 feet? No. What about the green bezel Sub. Ah . . . no. Most people need a red and blue bezel insert on a GMT to tell AM-PM? Don’t think so. Do any of us need a watch today? Not unless you don’t have a cell phone and if you are on this forum, I am assuming you have a cell phone or computer with time display nearby, so . .

Rolex knows we don’t need watches, so they create timepieces for which we thirst. If they didn’t change bezel color or dial choices or these “nothings,” we wouldn’t have such diverse and aesthetically pleasing options and therefore many of us would miss out on this eclectic hobby.

In the early days of the first green ceramic Submariner, there was someone that had both a black and a green version and they swapped the dial/movement between the cases, so they had a black bezel with green dial and green bezel with black dial. These were the date versions 116610LV and 116610LN.

Here's a thread with a bit of info and some pictures:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=445854

If you had both a 124060 and a 126610LV, you could swap the bezels to have a green bezel 124060.

More great pics! Love both of them. One of the best 126610LV photos I have seen. And wow, the father has a really clean perfect dial. Love the green bezel as well. Just plain sick, totally agree!

Well, I have a Starbucks and also a ND and actually agree with you. Don't flame me boys, but the cyclops date is more if a distraction for me and I prefer non date watches

Actually, if I could get a green sub either 126LV or 116LV for MSRP I'd hop on it without thinking twice. I miss my Hulk.

I asked about this last year and think it's a missed opportunity for them to not offer ND models with different bezels and dials. As much as I don't like green, a no date Hulk would look great.

Interested to see how these 2 comments age. It remains true that the green subs were not very popular at all before recent days, but trends change. I recall being offered a steeper discount to take an LV over an LN in 2015. Time will tell!

LOL. Missed opportunity. LOL.

Everything is sold out. They don’t need to do anything different to make the same money as they are now. If they wanted to make more money, then just make more gold watches.
