Rolex Precision WR?

Hello everyone, could someone please tell me how water resistant a 1977 Rolex Precision is, obviously depends how good the seals are etc.. but would it be ok in heavy rain, as I got caught in a heavy downpour earlier and my watch got soaked, seems fine though. Just made me wonder how WR they are?

If it's an Oyster case and the seals are intact, it is waterproof to 100 meters..

1977 would be plastic.....50 meters

But a REAL 50 meters, not the "be careful washing your hands" 50 Meters other brands feature. You could probably scuba dive with it.

Yes, 50 meters.

Of the plastic Oysters of the time the Sea-dweller was resistant to 600 meters, the Submariners to 200 meter, the Explorers (1016 and 1655) to 100 meters, and the rest to 50 meters.

But: Since it is a manual wind, make sure you have fresh gaskets and a fairly new crystal - and of course a pressure test done.

Thanks, thats settled my mind abit, as I was worrying about wearing it in the rain as it rains alot here in the UK lol
