Explorer I to collection?

My collection currently consists of:

- Sea dweller 43 126600
- Vacheron overseas dual time black dial
- Lange & Sohne Saxonia thin rose gold
- Gerard Perregaux laureato 42 grey dial

I keep listing after the explorer, but wonder if it’s just another black dial in a collection with two black dials already. I know on paper I should get a blue/white/green DJ to add more diversity, but the explorer I is the one watch I really regret selling years ago. The 36mm also provides a nice change in what is a larger watch collection (Lange aside).

I am considering changing the VC for the silver dial variant, so I guess the question is more: are the SD and explorer I too similar by being black dial Rolex sports watches?

All advice welcome.

Go for it, as you said the Explorer and SD are so different in size that even thought the share color scheme it still ads diversity.

I have had a SD43 For a good period of 6-9 months alongside with my wifes 36mm 2021 explorer. They are just so very different. i suggest you to have a look at the explorer 36 in person at a grey shop, the strap (if u r used to a SD43) will feel miniscule.

* i sold off ny SD43 and my Omega PO44 as i dropped weight and my wrist could not bear the weight no more, plus with my GMT being so comfy I now stay away from heavier watches. Changed over to a LV sub and never been happier.

I adore the Explorer I and fully intend to add one to my collection some day.
I think it is still the essence of a Rolex as a tool watch, now in the classic 36mm size. Perfect and beautiful

You must have liked it if you regret selling it, therefore I'd add it back.

Your collection, your money your choice. It might be that if you have to ask, the answer is no.
