I mean what should we say to these posts? Bad people do bad things. Get insurance and don’t wear Rolex in high theft areas. Next.

Situational awareness sounds like a hackneyed cliché - until you wish you'd had some.

People feel better when others feel the same way they do. You’re supposed to say “that’s scary, I’ll never wear a watch ever again” Get with the program |

Ah I get it! How about, “watch out, oh no, honey where are my keys I am selling those Rolex watches”

I think this is more important to show the decay of society and how wearing the items we have a forum for can now put you in risk even in historically safe places. This same thing happened in Melrose during the day, not exactly Lemert Park. Its relevant, theres no hard and fast answer or response but good to know. Fun being a forum tough guy until you get pistol whipped

As a commercial airline pilot I overnight in different cities on every trip. I am cognizant of my surroundings and don't always wear my GMT out in sketchy cities--it stays hidden in my hotel room. I am not paranoid but aware of the threat. Why chance a robbery just to wear a Rolex out in public? I am a gigantic mammal but don't take unnecessary chances--my size alone garners enough attention.

I posted this for no other reason than that it's Rolex-related content, not to raise an alarm about the safety, or lack thereof, in wearing a high-end watch in a major city like LA. I wear my Rolex here in my hometown San Diego, in my second home Barcelona, and in my third most-frequented city, London. I'm not a "tough guy", and I'm not reckless. I am street smart and practice situational awareness wherever I happen to be. So far, so good.

Poor criminals, it’s not their fault. They need a get out of jail free pass. Never mind, I forgot they’re in Cali, they already have 1

This puts the average person who wears a nice watch at higher risk of serious injury and financial loss, and we do need to be reminded of this. So yes, keep posting about these crimes.... |

Thief last names are Dumas and Witty. I think it’s safe to skip the correct French pronunciation.
