What do I have?"

I'm not a novice, but older ladies DJ is out of my wheelhouse. It appears I have a 18K 26mm Ladies DJ from the 70's or 80's, with President bracelet. The source (good friend) says it was grandmas but unknown when grandma acquired it. But he believes it's 100% legit, as Grandma would have never owned a fake, although I question if the diamond bezel is Rolex or aftermarket. I'll have to get my watch guy (other side of town and it will be a couple weeks before I can get down there) to open it up and check inside. Currently runs but doesn't time correctly. Curious, it only has 2 steps/clicks out on the crown. The first winds, the second turns the hands. There is no 3rd to set the date, you have to run the hands around to change the date... Shouldn't a DJ have a 3rd click out? It's a holes case, but I"m not sure what year in the 70 or 80's the case was made to no holes case. It has the correct hallmarks on the case lug undersides, but it would have to be opened to get a serial. It's 26mm with 13mm bracelet. Please expand for those with good knowledge on this model... Thank you, I'll check back in later...

The bezel is not factory.

Just my opinion and you should post clearer photos if possible, but the text on the dial and the date window looks off.

Sorry, but to my eyes at first glance that not a genuine Rolex.

Aren't the Milgauss and Sea Dweller the only Rolexes to have case back engravings?

Grandma may never have worn a fake Rolex, and by the looks of it she never wore fake diamonds.

If you do some googling around with the bracelet code (8570) you will find some watches similar to that. Apparently at some point the president bracelet was available with some lady DJ's. The bezel is def aftermarket.

Odd duck. Some things look ok about it. Some don't.

Should be a 6917 lady datejust from the 70’s with 2030 non-quickset movement.
To me the only non Rolex part is the diamond bezel, but it fits the era of expensive custom diamond bezel additions.
Photos between both lugs, of the movement, and inside of case back will provide you with the best answers though.

As said above most likely the watch is genuine except for the bezel; a watchmen can check it inside for you and confirms if the movement is genuine. How much does it weighs?

Does it feel heavy? A solid gold Rolex should have some heft.

Older datejusts do not have a quickset date function. That’s all I’m going to contribute. I hated hated hated my 1601 for this it was an absolute F******** nightmare setting the date it literally gave me cramp in my thumb lol

For a watch of that age, I’d bet all you need is for a jeweler to tell you if the gold is real. Back then, fakes were lousy, no such thing as a” super clone” and there’s virtually zero chance of real gold being used.

Weight is 2.34 OZ or 67 Grams. Including bracelet and bezel. Does anyone know what it should weigh?
