Cash App founder stabbed to death in San Francisco

so much sadness in a city I used to love...

Cash App founder stabbed to death in San Francisco

SAN FRANCSICO (CNN) – The founder of Cash App was stabbed to death early Tuesday morning near downtown San Francisco.

Bob Lee’s death was confirmed by Joshua Goldbard, the CEO of his current employer MobileCoin, who wrote in a tweet Wednesday that Lee was an incredible human being.

Police say officers responding to a report of a stabbing in the city’s Rincon Hill neighborhood took a 43-year-old man to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

No arrests have been made.

I just read about this in the paper.

It is a terrible story, as he leaves a wife and two daughters.

Another senseless killing.

Yipes, that's sad. Hope he wasn't dealing with the whole Silicon Valley Bank fiasco too.

Very appalling, I wonder who he pissed off. That’s not a good way to go. May his soul rest in piece.

This reminds me of Mike Beedle (one of the founders of Scrum) in Chicago about 5 years ago. Almost exact circumstances, really sad.

Only a matter of time before the victim is blamed. The so called ‘leaders’ in place are worthless.

A sad story, but not to quash the narrative:

LA Times..

Violent crime, defined by the California Department of Justice as homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, peaked in 2013 in San Francisco with 7,064 incidents. The rate has fallen over the last decade, down to 4,796 incidents in 2020 before undergoing a slight uptick to 4,887 incidents in 2021. The state agency has yet to release crime statistics for 2022.

Though San Francisco recorded 56 homicides in 2022, the number was much smaller than other cities of a similar size, such as Denver with 88 homicides, Nashville with 108, Oklahoma City with 71 and Columbus with 140, according to data from the Major Cities Police Chiefs Assn.
