Watch and sunglasses

Hi guys,

Just curious… should your watch match your sunglasses?
Do you wear the same color watch and sunglasses? For example, gold frame sunglasses and gold watch or do you mix it?

Would love to hear your opinions what do you think about that.

Regards

I don’t normally wear sunglasses but I should probably pick up a pair.

Never really considered pairing the watch with sunglasses. I'm a Persol snob, and have a variety of colors, so maybe I do subconsciously pair the glasses to the watch I'm wearing. I'll have to pay more attention to that now.

I have lots of sunglasses. I pair them with my clothes and I pair my watch and clothes so yeah, technically I pair my sunglasses with the watch I'm wearing that day too

They are both accessories and do not need to (and probably shouldn’t) match.

Many people make the mistake of trying to match a watch and their shirt for example, and it almost always looks bad. Accessories do not need to match your outfit and contrast is actually a good thing.

Matchy-matchy is not a good look.

I live in the U.K. Sunglasses are barely a thing.

For the 8 or so days of sun we get a year, a couple of pairs of raybans and Oakleys in black match everything without thinking about it. They’re the sub and sub date of sunglasses.

Could even call them SubGlasses!

I have Ferrari raybans. They have black lenses and frame but the stems are red. Wasn't a conscious decision but pairs well with my SD43

I try to match when I can but I happen to have more sunglasses than watches, so I'm covered in this department :)

Sunglasses and shoes usually match.
Shoes and watch usually match.
Therefore sunglasses and watch sometimes match.

LOL

Interesting. I wear polarized and have no issue with my heads up display. My glasses are supposedly polarized…

Edit: to answer the original post, it’s never occurred to me to match my sunglasses and my watch.

The direction of the polarization is the same, so there can't be a problem with a good quality sunglass. Just as a remark, I wish to add that every mobile phone display is polarized, as almost all the LCD/LED displays are polarized

In recent times, both my watches and sunglasses have been white metal. So, not a lot of effort there.

All my watches have different color dials, and a couple contrast colored straps. Matching those with clothes is more effort.

I match metals in my watches, sunglasses, belt buckle, cufflinks, pen, etc. You get the idea. It is also about color.
