Which collection sounds better for me?
(1) "Wearable collection" : BLNR Oyster, Sub Date, DJ36 TT (oyster, fluted, champagne dial), Exp 1 36mm, Exp II Polar
(2) "Museum collection" : Sub Date, DJ36 TT (same as above), Pepsi jubilee, Steel Daytona White dial I currently own the first 3 in the wearable collection (BLNR, Sub, DJ) all bought new from AD. My current wish list at the AD gets a lot harder - White Dial Daytona and Pepsi Jubilee, so who knows if I will ever get these. (2) in theory sounds awesome on paper, these are watches I love the most. But knowing me and my wearing habits, the only daily wearer in that group for me is the Sub. I suspect the others will spend more time in the safe, esp the Pepsi and Daytona. (1) otoh are wearers. I already daily drive the BLNR and Sub Date pretty carefree. Exp I and II would be the same, I'd wear the heck out of these two as well. TBF, this could all be a moot point. If I don't ever get a single Rolex again brand new, it won't break my heart, I'm kinda good with the 3 I have now (famous last words I know). No guarantee I'll ever get a Pepsi or Daytona of course. BUT if I commit to the (1) route, I think it maybe very doable considering the AD has already allocated a Sub and BLNR to me. |

Why wouldn’t you wear the museum collection? I have the bottom two and wear them every day. Activities done with those watches: golfing, hunting (including cleaning the deer), changing car tires, swimming, moving from my old house into my new one, typing on a computer (the most dangerous one for scratches), and probably other stupid things I don’t even remember.

I am biased but would go with the hall of fame collection—I gave it a new name. The Pepsi and Daytona are both icons. You would rather own them long term than the others, and my first Rolex was an explorer 2 which I still have

Go with #2. You don't need so many daily drivers.

Like I said, I might not even land either with the AD (I am hoping for at least one of them), so my biggest quandary was whether to just go for the Explorers in the interim and mentally "forget" the Pepsi/Daytona, but I think the better play is to wear the 3 I have now and patiently wait and hope for the best. |

GMT is a great daily watch. Don’t see why BLNR is a daily but not BLRO?

I would go with (2) above. I daily wear my Pepsi on jubilee and my AD promised me a white dial Daytona, which I expect to daily wear as well. No reason not to daily wear the Pepsi and Daytona IMO.

Go with (2). Sounds like the Explorers would be substitutes.
The BLRO is worth it. Once you own one you will get it. |

All of those are daily wearers in my book.
I wouldn’t want to own anything I felt I needed to keep locked away a safe. |
