Wide price range for 116520, why?
Why is there such a large price range for white 116520’s? I see some for $20k and others for $36k+. All used and worn.
Are there more desirable years? Or are these just silly asks? Should they all used be around $20k? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well set, service history, and condition are factors. Panna (white dials turning cream in early 2000s) dials get a premium. Watch only these are under 20k. Asking price isn't the selling price either and inventory levels are up. Cash buyers are in the best position.

Condition is paramount when looking at one you may want, then the price is determined by what a willing buyer will pay to a willing seller.

In the low range they are polished / over polished and they don’t look good at all (rounded lugs, not sharp bezel). In the high range I would expect full set mint and unpolished.

Prices always depend on condition, accessories, etc. And of course some asking prices are silly. If you want to know the true market value of a given model spend some time researching auctions and soon you will have a handle on the market.
And BTW, if a six-digit Daytona is vintage, please just shoot me now. :-)

Thank you for all the helpful information.
I figured all discontinued models were vintage. Apologies. |

No, they need about 50 years or so for that, give or take a decade, there is no real definition.

Don’t forget about the rare cream 116520……a whole different ballgame commanding about double the price of a white or black one
