Incoming - New to me 2220.80

I am excited to finally be getting a Sea master. A little nervous but excited as its from a private seller on Chrono, but seems legit. Original owner, box and papers and a service in 2019.

Wondering about 2 things after I get it - I would love to get it checked for authenticity and just the seals for watertightness as I plan to use it as a water watch....Is there a service for Omegas that is not a full service? I know I can call them but I am just curious.
TIA

Great reference, congrats!

You don't need to send this to Omega for those services. I'd locate a local trusted watchmaker and take it there.

Cool Omega

There's an Omega-authorized independent called Nesbit's Fine Watch Service in Seattle that many of us prefer to use instead of Omega's factory Service Center in the US. Communication, cooperation, turn-around time, and quality control are significantly better in my experience.

Any time I think I need something I phone Jan Nesbit ahead of time. She always phones me to report their findings and advice, and my watches have always come back in perfect order.

To some it might seem a little nutty to ship all the way across the country, but I don't have good resources nearby, so to me it's just as well.

Congrats on picking up the best Seamaster.

I’m only one opinion on the internet, but I wouldn’t worry too much about authenticity or seals. Mine went 15+ years with no service. At least not until it was dropped on the crown.

not nutty at all. I am a bit nervous as this is coming from a private seller on chrono24, and he is not really friendly or communicative but maybe thats a good sign over someone overly solicitous. Time is of the essence to check authenticity but in general i would be happy to call them and ship it there.

After looking at new Seamasters I bought mine from 2006 four years ago. It's one of my favorites out of my collection. Congrats to you.

As long as the original & service papers match up to the serial no on watch - should be fine. Sounds like you’ve got details to get the watch checked. Personally- I’d splash on the Omega service & then got piece of mind for next 10/ 12 years plus papers if ever want to move it on

thats what i was thinking...of course you cant see the # in any images but it makes more sense than a guy who"got it from his uncle"

Also there is something to be said for buying a one owner watch from the owner....i got a 1966 explorer that way...still a bit nerve wracking since I am no expert
