Deployant Clasp on FOIS

Has anyone put their FOIS on a deployant clasp? I have mine on the original 19mm leather strap so wasn't sure what clasp size I needed to get for it. Would a 16mm clasp be too small?

The clasp size will depend on what strap you're going to use. The FOIS comes with a leather strap that has a pin buckle right? If so, you will need a new strap if you want to use a deployant clasp.

Not a 100% match, but hopefully these pictures will help you decide.

Speedmaster Racing, 19mm at the lugs, tapering down to 18mm at the clasp.

Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich on the new 3861 bracelet, 20mm at the lugs, tapering down to a 15mm clasp.

Both are really comfortable. To answer your question, I don't think 16mm at the clasp is too small. But I think finding a strap that is 19mm at the lugs/18mm at the clasp would be much easier. Then again, you can always get one custom made...

Most of Omega's 19mm straps take a 16mm deployant clasp with the exception of the old Speedmaster Racing that had 19mm straps tapering to 18mm clasp and the current 39.5mm Planet Ocean. You'll probably have way more options available with the 16mm clasp for your FOIS if you choose to stick to Omega OEM straps.

Of course you could always go custom and have Jean Rousseau make you a 19 taper 18 and solve the limited availability thing.

I have a Hirsch 19 with deployant that I had put on my FOIS when I had it. No longer have the watch, no longer need the strap/clasp. OP you can have it if you want it, just cover shipping. PM if you are interested.
