Unethical ADs

Hey guys,
Hope everyone is well and in good health. Wanted to kindly reach out to ask if anyone has a contact at the bucherer / tourneau corporate offices. Have been a client por 15 years and want to report unethical sales practices.

It is a shame how the purchasing dynamics have evolved.

Hope everyone has a great sunday.

You thought they were going to sell you a hot model without spending a lot on useless stuff ?

With the amount of people waiting for years for watches that never come they might get a few more phone calls. Although they could spend thousands on things they don’t need to make that wait shorter

Unethical ADs

LOL

I assume you want the mailing address in lieu of phone number so you can write a sternly-worded letter.

Out of curiosity, to what cannon of ethics do you believe this jewelry store is failing to follow?

What may seem like "unethical sales practices" to one person, may not be to another person. ADs cannot please everyone where demand exceeds supply.

Most of the watches I purchased from tourneau were not "hot" watches. Mainly Hublot, Breitling, Romaine Jerome, Ressence, among other brands. The issue I faced with the sales associate was over a watch I passed on. I was more or less told I would not be considered for the reference I actually wanted, because I did not purchase a sprite gmt. Any way, I think I wont even bother and just move on! Hope everyone has a grat day :)

Hey that’s frustrating - unfortunately it’s sort of the reality with supply and demand nowadays. People are increasingly purchasing things they don’t want to get things they want. Which one did you want?

This is why in the current era it is best to just buy any watch they offer you, as long as you can sell it and break even, even if you don’t want it. The purists will disagree and say “only buy a watch you want!!!,” but this is necessary if you want to keep getting offered watches of increasing prominence and rarity.

ADs are t&@@ts just go grey you waste your time with them buying s@&ite to make you feel better you didn’t go grey when instead by going grey you save the most priceless thing. Your time and happiness

Yes if time and effort in selling is of no issue for you, for those who are time poor and have the money going grey is the best solution within price reason ofc.

I work with many ADs and close friends with a few. I know if it's something you asked for and SA worked to get it for you it looks bad. Did you want this piece before, was it on your registry? I have turned down plenty and never heard of such behavior by a AD. They should honestly appreciate you didn't buy it and flip it.

Sorry, but unless I am misunderstanding that doesn’t make any sense.

The VTNR GMT is a very in-demand watch. An AD will have zero issue trying to find a buyer for it, so it is not likely they are upset you passed or would put the Sprite as something to pressure you to buy in order to get a better piece. Makes zero sense. The watches an AD pressures you to buy are the undesirable (less desirable) ones like a diamond set ladies DJ - not a steel GMT.

Did I misunderstand or is there more to this story?

Bingo! The idea you’re forced to buy a big over retail watch to get what you really want is funny. The Sprite is a watch ADs make you buy other things to get.

Frankly, I don’t even think so in that case. Again, zero effort to find another buyer for a VTNR.

Maybe if he has a history of requesting watches and then changing his mind when offered would this make more sense.

Or he asked them to hold the VTNR for a couple weeks because he was out of town or something and then changed his mind… either way, I don’t think we got the full story.

Yeah, No! There’s a lot more to that story, and it looks like we’ll never know the rest of it. That made no sense.

It’s a bummer to see so many people basically support the lack of ethics we all know a few ADs are guilty of.
