Damaged ALS booklet

We've all seen people post threads about damaged watches (scratches, dings, or worse). But have you ever seen a damaged booklet?

My watch is perfectly fine (not even at the same address as the box and papers). The Garantie Certificate is part of the booklet but was untouched. But a few pages of the service history was damaged by fire.

Hurts me a lot to see this as it is an important document. Watch serviced once in April 2021, which can still be seen on the burnt pages.

Have you guys ever had your papers damaged? How would you feel if your papers got damaged (flood, fire, trauma, etc)? Would you ever buy a Lange with box and papers but papers are in this shape?

I don't foresee selling my watch but I like all my belongings to be pristine

Well the booklet certainly tells a story.

Yes, I would consider it. A yellow gold Lange1 is a bit uncommon being a boutique exclusive only reintroduced this year. Older ones in good, serviced condition have been a mixed bag in my recent search. If the watch is in good condition, I would not be swayed by the paperwork being burned. The serial number on the original sales guarantee is clearly visible. That is in good condition.

Hah, but to think how unlikely it is for watch papers to damaged. Lost I can understand, but as long as you have them, they are usually tucked away in some dark corner.

I don't even suppose others here share a similar experience

Good point. I had inquired ALS whether I can get a replacement booklet to document future services. They had suggested a Certificate of Origin, but I told them that won't be necessary given that the original certificate is still intact. They declined replacing the booklet, which I can understand. It's just hard for me to live with this imperfection lol
