Daytona 116520 dial assembly..
Does anybody know how a Daytona dial is assembled.. Are the markers and the Rolex symbol applied by hand on each dial or by automated equipment?
I mean with at least 700k watches per year, that is a lot of dials to do by hand. Any ideas??

I would imagine it's a combination of the two
If I remember correctly I think I saw a picture of a watchmaker applying the rolex crown to a dial in Watchtime (the special rolex edition). But I would imagine that it's too many dials to have someone apply all the markers. Plus, wouldn't there be too much variance between the dials if it was all hand applied?

I was told in a phone call with RSC that they were applied by hand... But I still believe if would be too much with all those markers and many watches... And it is also possible that you would have a lot of variance between the dials. My guess is they are automated somehow... Someone knows the truth.. I know it.
The truth is out there..

All dials are predrilled in a jig to assure uniformity, markers have 2 to 3 pins that go in the wholes as to whether they're put on by hand or machine probably combination of both. I have seen hand machines that put those on I would imagine the markers would be the same. Rik
