Daytona 116520 dial assembly..

Does anybody know how a Daytona dial is assembled.. Are the markers and the Rolex symbol applied by hand on each dial or by automated equipment?
I mean with at least 700k watches per year, that is a lot of dials to do by hand.
Any ideas??

I would imagine it's a combination of the two

If I remember correctly I think I saw a picture of a watchmaker applying the rolex crown to a dial in Watchtime (the special rolex edition). But I would imagine that it's too many dials to have someone apply all the markers. Plus, wouldn't there be too much variance between the dials if it was all hand applied?

I was told in a phone call with RSC that they were applied by hand... But I still believe if would be too much with all those markers and many watches... And it is also possible that you would have a lot of variance between the dials. My guess is they are automated somehow... Someone knows the truth.. I know it.
The truth is out there..

All dials are predrilled in a jig to assure uniformity, markers have 2 to 3 pins that go in the wholes as to whether they're put on by hand or machine probably combination of both. I have seen hand machines that put those on I would imagine the markers would be the same. Rik

Rikki.. what about the Rolex Logo in the Dial (the crown) does that one also have pins to assure uniformity? and make sure it is centered correctly.

I don't know anything about how they assembled SS Daytona or even if the markers and the Rolex symbol applied by hand on each dial. But I do know one thing though. You can buy them at least 20% off or more discount in CANADA.

Better yet, 40% off on TT GMT IIc.
