Need a new wedding band
I lost my wedding band over the weekend. I’m looking for a platinum plain band. Tiffany’s has a 4mm I like. Can’t decid between a plain or milgrain edge. Is Tiffany’s worth the extra money between a no name ring?

I would say no to Tiffany's. Their markup isn't worth it on a band. Go with a no name band and put the difference in your watch fund.

I was going to suggest Aerosmith, but they officially retired I guess.
Then I read your entire post......sorry.

IMHO, it’s not worth the premium.

Plain or milgrain edge? Any opinions on two tone? Yellow gold and platinum?

This is my gold wedding ring after nearly 32 years of daily use. I knew it would see hard work so I opted for a very basic band with only the slightest bit of style. While not ornate I think it was just enough.
As you can see after all this time the edges are nearly worn smooth. Even so I would choose it again.

TIF silver is my go-to, very comfy too. Plus cheap enough to lose if/when it happens while swimming, etc.

You won’t believe this…was out to dinner with my wife and friends. Had a cocktails. I was spinning my ring and flipped it into her glass of ice tea. As the night went on we both forgot it was in there and went home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

This is what I have. 3mm width, and the thinnest thickness setting. Don't even know it's on.

I have a no-name 18k YG plain band. I don't see the point of the markup for a piece of jewelry that never leaves my finger and gets beat up. Then again, for the same reason, why not go all out, right? |

I read this wrong. I thought the band for your wedding canceled last minute and you needed to find new musical entertainment for your nuptials. If you're prone to losing rings, I'd say go with generic instead of a name brand ring.

I've come close to losing mine a few times. Whenever I go to China, I always drop a lot of weight, even thought I eat and drink like a viking there. I was flopping my hands to dry off after washing them in a mall men's room and my ring shot off like a bullet and bounced and rolled a pretty good distance. I always switch to my right hand when playing my guitar too, and I've dropped it a few times when in music stores.

Have you called the restaurant to speak with the manager to see if they have it? It’s possible that they have it but just don’t know who it belongs to.

Not worth the money for a platinum/WG wedding band in my opinion. I have my original YG but picked up a SS band and later a Titanium one and they work great for less than $100.
