Chronomat accuracy
Just got the 40 mm Chronomat GMT....beautiful!....
But, it seems to be about 7 seconds slow per day?? Is this common?? No warranty so don't want to send it to Bretiling.... Not too bad, but a little annoying.... Anyone else with this experience???? |

The Chronomat uses a base ETA 2893-2 if I’m not mistaken. I would imagine +- 10 seconds is technically within tolerances. I’m not sure though. I would hope for around +-5 so I agree 7 seconds would be a little frustrating. I doubt it’s COSC certified.
Very pretty watch thought, wear it in the best of health. |

I would suggest to give it some time to settle. All Breitlings are COSC Chronometers. I purchased a new Superocean in February. It was running at + 8 seconds per day for about 2 months (I rotate quite a few watches so it was not an everyday watch but a couple days per week). After a couple months it settled down and now it regular at +4-5 seconds per day (within COSC standard).

During the last 12 hours of reserve, my chronomat B01 lost 20 seconds. A little confusing since it has been stated that the watch should be running faster.

An update.....
Yes, after wearing it for a few months, it is running about 4 seconds fast per day... Within standards and am happy!!!....if it does not change!!!! These watches are just so sharp to wear!! |
