The Le Mans White Gold, the Le Mans Yellow Gold, and the Meteorite Rose Gold are nice.

And the rest? Well as they say, if you haven't got anything nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all.

I’m on the waitlist for three of these. Just bought my wife a gemstone ring for almost $1400 bucks and I have bought a few SS Rolex and one Tudor.

I make sure I keep my ringer on 24/7 because it shouldn’t be long.

What makes the ruby ones so expensive? Are rubies just that much more expensive than diamonds, or is there something I'm missing about those watches in particular?

I would assume that finding the same perfect color and clarity of ruby is challenging.

I'm sure you're right, as with that history you're certainly a VIP customer.

Honestly I'm in the same boat. My spend history is one SS Rolex, one TT Rolex, one Tudor, and some misc. jewelry for the Mrs.

My AD is happy to allocate me anything in what passes for low demand these days, but anything truly special I'm SOL.

My only hope is an unexpected hard landing in the economy where unemployment spikes. Might be able to get something cool then.

Actually gemsets IRL are not that much gaudier than the normal ones. From more than an arm’s length distance, people can’t really tell. It’s not like the North Star in a dark night. The majority of the reported robberies and assaults are actually for plain Jane watches. So, culturally, there’s a big change on what “gaudy”, “showing off”, “flexing” are.

Pricing seems very random for these. Especially the WG Lemans, last year it was $52K, now $267K? I find that hard to believe.

Other than the LeMans every thing else is not appealing to me. If they were free I would pass. I’ll take my plain old SS and PM on leather and Oysterflex.

My guess is the prices stated are market value, not msrp.

I don’t generally care for Daytonas since I have an 8” wrist and they are 39mm….

That said I’d rock that Arabic dial diamond bezel Daytona….what a killer!

Market value is more than I paid for my first house…but a killer all the same lol.

No, if you look its the old reference 116, so it's just showing the market value on them all

The Ruby Pave has almost exactly the same price tag as my house.
And that alone will tell you that I'm unlikely to appear on the waiting list.

That said, I'm pleased that watches like this exist - I see them as the Faberge eggs of our age.

Not a fan of the Daytona but those off catalogue ones would not wear one if it was free.

Out of interest, has anyone seen any of these uber-exotic Rolexes (or anything like them) in the wild?

Nope. Closest I've heard of is that my AD got a surprise Rainbow Daytona in their Christmas shipment 2 or 3 years ago.

Never found out who it went to but there are many stealth heavy hitters around these parts.

Interesting watches. Off catalogue pieces sometime come off as franken watches as most, including myself, are not aware of them. I don't like most of them, which is good as I could not afford them if I did.
